Young chess prodigies converge in Da Lat for junior champs

The event is the most prestigious chess tournament in the country for junior players aged 6-20, providing an opportunity for chess' rising stars to compete in a top-level tournament and environment,said a representative of the executive board at the opening ceremony.

Following the opening ceremony, the first of 12 days of Swiss system non-elimination tournament competition got underway in the categories of standard, rapid and blitz, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
