Women’s volleyballers earn VND1.2 billion bonus from SEA V.League title

VOV.VN - The Vietnam women’s volleyball team received multiple cash bonuses after defeating their archrivals Thailand on August 10 to win the 2025 Southeast Asia Women’s Volleyball Championship - SEA V.League (second leg).

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his players were awarded a total of VND1.2 billion (approx.. US$47,000), including VND300 million from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, VND200 million from the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee, and contributions from various benefactors.

In addition, player Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen was granted VND50 million by the Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee for her outstanding performance. She also claimed two individual awards - Best Opposite Spiker and Most Valuable Player.

Speaking after the match, head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet called the win a critical step toward the team’s larger ambitions.

“After many losses to Thailand, we saw this as a final opportunity, a crucial test ahead of our goal to win gold at the coming SEA Games,” he said.

“The team showed tremendous determination. Matches like this help us develop both strategy and mental strength ahead of coming tough competitions,” he added.
