Women’s national football team train in Japan’s heat wave

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s women’s national football team have been enduring the sweltering heat wave in Japan during their training camp in preparation for the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018.

The women’s national football team have spent several days at a training camp in Mimasaka, Japan. Head coach Mai Duc Chung prepares the players with a a series of hard training sessions ahead of the Asian Games (ASIAD) 2018.
After a 2-2 draw with Yunogo Belle in their first friendly match in Japan on August 2, head coach Mai Duc Chung praised the team’s performance in playing a stronger rival.
The Vietnamese women’s team quickly matched the intensity of the opposition after the first 10 minutes of play.
Head coach Mai Duc Chung identifies ways in which the team can improve, telling them to press the opposition more and not give them time to attack.
To compensate for his team’s inability to press, head coach Mai Duc Chung asks them to practise close passing to maintain possession.
The exercise also requires the 3 goalkeepers to work constantly in space, all players must work closely and harmoniously.
The players have to drink lots of fresh water and eat a suitable diet to cope with repeated training sessions in the hot weather.
Vietnam’s women’s national football team were beaten 2-0 by Okayama Club in a friendly match in Japan on August 5.
They will next face Kibi Okayama on August 9 for their last game of the tour.
