Vietnamese women lose two volleyball matches

Vietnam lost both its matches at the classification round of the Asian Women’s Senior Volleyball Championship being held in the Philippines.

The hosts prevailed over Vietnam in a closely fought match at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna, on August 14. Vietnam lost 25-27, 24-26, 25-17, 23-25.

On August 13, Vietnam lost another four-setter to Kazakhstan, 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 20-25.

They will next play Japan, who beat Thailand 22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 26-24 in the quarter-final round.

In other matches on August 14, the Republic of Korea beat Kazakhstan 25-21, 26-24, 25-10 and China beat Chinese Taipei 25-22, 19-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-11.
