Vietnamese girl wins Swissultra Triathlon 2022 in Deca Continuous

VOV.VN - Thanh Vu, a Vietnamese athlete, has finished first in the Deca Ultratriathlon of the ‘Continuous’ variant which took place in Switzerland from August 14 – 29.

The Deca Ultratriathlon of the ‘Continuous’ variant leads over a total distance of 2,260 kilometers which corresponds to 10 times the triathlon long distance.

Taking part in the race, athletes are required to compete in one piece: first 38 kilometres swimming, then 1,800 kilometres cycling and finally a tenfold marathon (422 km running).

Only four female athletes registered to go in for the race, and Thanh Vu was the first that had completed the race as of 11pm on August 28 (Vietnam time). The Vietnamese completed the competition in 328 hours, 27 minutes, 55 seconds, equivalent to 13 days, 16 hours, 27 minutes, 55 seconds.

The world record in this category for women is 247 hours, 7 minutes, 21 seconds, set by Christine Couldrey of Australia in 2018.
