Vietnamese fighter wins gold at World MMA Competition

VOV.VN - Vietnamese mixed martial artist Pham Cong Minh secured a technical knockout (TKO) victory at the World MMA Competition held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on the sidelines of the 2025 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.

Competing in the men’s 85kg category, Minh faced Chinese debutant Zhang Mingyang, who entered the world professional MMA stage after earning medals in domestic kickboxing tournaments.

Minh demonstrated strong grappling skills, calmly controlling the match before taking Mingyang to the ground and delivering decisive ground-and-pound attacks. The Vietnamese fighter finished the bout in just two and a half minutes.

The APEC 2025 Korea Summit Commemorative World MMA Competition, organized by the World X-Impact Federation (WXF) on October 30, featured 18 matches and attracted fighters from 21 countries. Notable participants included Natan Levy of Israel and Russia’s Rashid Magomedov and Omari Akhmedov, all seasoned competitors in major martial arts tournaments.
