Vietnamese duo crowned U18 women’s champions at Asia Pickleball Junior Open
VOV.VN - Vietnamese duo Jolie Lam and Sophia Phuong Anh claimed the U18 women’s doubles title at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 after a series of strong performances on July 14.

Organised by the Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP), the tournament brought together outstanding young athletes from across the continent.
Jolie Lam and Phuong Anh topped their group after winning both matches, advancing directly to the quarterfinals. There, they faced fellow Vietnamese players Vu Yen Nhi and Vu Yen Phuong, delivering a commanding 11–0 win.
In the semifinals, the pair encountered tough opponents in Shi Yile and Chia Yi Lee of China. However, the Vietnamese team maintained composure and competitive intensity to secure an 11–7 victory.
The final saw Lam and Phuong Anh dominate Japan’s Kei Sawaki and Horii Yuna with a decisive 15–4 win, sealing the U18 women’s doubles championship. The title marks a notable milestone for the two athletes at the continental junior level.
Both aged 17, Jolie Lam and Sophia Phuong Anh are regarded as two of the most promising talents in Vietnamese women’s pickleball, having earned strong results at domestic and regional competitions.
Jolie Lam is also scheduled to compete in the U18 women’s singles event on July 15. She will then travel to Malaysia for another international tournament slated for July 17-20.
