Vietnamese cueists compete at Asian Carom Champs in RoK
VOV.VN - Top Vietnamese male and female cueists are currently competing at the three-cushion billiards Asian Carom Championship 2024, which is now underway in the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Among 11 Vietnamese billiards players competing in the tournament are world No.2 Tran Quyet Chien, world No.8 Bao Phuong Vinh, Duong Thanh Tam, Nguyen Tran Thanh Tao, Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi, Le Thi Ngoc Hue, Phung Kien Tuong, and Nguyen Thi Bich Tram.
The championship attracted the participation of a number of talented athletes from the RoK, Japan, and China, including world No.1 Cho Myung-woo, world No.10 Kim Jun-tae, and world’s No.12 Kim Haeng-jik.
Competitors are divided into eight groups, with the top eight players advancing to the next round.
Vietnam also sent five cueists to the one-cushion category and three players to the three-cushion Juniors U22.
The tournament is due to last until March 31.
In 2019, leading Vietnamese player Tran Quyet Chien became the champion of the three-cushion billiards Asian Carom Championship 2019, while Ma Minh Cam won the one-cushion category at the tournament.
