Vietnamese community football tournament in Japan marks national reunification

VOV.VN - The FAVIJA CHUBU CUP 2025, a Vietnamese community football tournament, was held on April 27 at Aino Stadium in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Organized by the Vietnam-Japan international exchange organization (FAVIJA) with support from the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the event saw 16 amateur teams competing. FC Hoang Hai Watch emerged as champions, with FC Numazu finishing in second place. FC T-Connect Binh Dinh and FC Nghe Tinh shared third place.

According to the organizers, the tournament not only promoted physical fitness but also served as a meaningful occasion to showcase national pride and patriotism, fostering a sense of unity within the Vietnamese expatriate community.

Additionally, Do Quang Ba, president of FAVIJA, announced that the top four teams would earn the opportunity to compete in the FAVIJA Champions Cup, Japan's largest Vietnamese football championship, set to take place in Tokyo later this year.
