Vietnamese athletes among world’s Top 30 Latin dance pairs
VOV.VN - Vietnamese dancesport duo athletes Pham Trung Hoa and Nguyen My Trang have made it into the top 30 best Latin dance pairs in the senior age group category.
They recorded outstanding achievements at two WDSF-standard international dancesport competitions organised by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) in Europe: Cyprus Open 2025 and Nice – France Open 2025. They won three bronze medalsand placed in the Top 6 overall in the Latin category.
The competitions are held annually in France and Cyprus – the two countries with well-developed dancesport cultures - and attract dancers from countries such as France, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and Cyprus.
They were the only representatives from Asia to compete in both the Senior I, with one dancer aged 30+ and the other 35+, and Senior II, with one over 40and the other over 45, divisions.
With their remarkable performance, the pair officially entered the Top 30 Latin dance couples in the senior division, ranking 29th globally in the World DanceSport Federation’s latest ranking released on May 6.
Last year, Hoa and Trang competed against nearly 100 foreign rivals at the World Championship Latin Senior II in Germany where they ranked in 42nd position.
Hoa has been a professional Dancesport athlete and coach for 18 years. He currently serves as the director of VietsDance centre in Hanoi, where Trang has been training for the past eight years.
Trang, a businesswoman, has been practicing Dancesport since 2017. She only began enteringprofessional international competitions in September2023.
University team win silver at international DanceSport competition
VOV.VN - The DanceSport team of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) successfully claimed a silver medal at the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) World Challenge Cup Rising Stars Latin and Standard, which was wrapped up at the Military Zone 7 Gymnasium on July 14.
