Vietnam women’s national team remain SEA’s No.1 in latest FIFA rankings

VOV.VN - Vietnam women’s national team dropped one place to 37th in the latest FIFA rankings released on April 16, with 1,593.71 points after losing 3.16 points, but remain the top-ranked side in Southeast Asia and in Asia’s top six.

The point deduction came from their final match in the group stage of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where Vietnam lost 0-4 to Japan.

Vietnam’s current ranking of 37 shows a degree of stability, as the team held the same position for an extended period from December 25, 2023 to September 7, 2025.

Elsewhere in Southeast Asia, the Philippines rose two places to 39th, just two places behind Vietnam. Laos climbed two spots to 112th, while Thailand moved up one place to 52nd.

Malaysia and Indonesia each dropped one place to 92nd and 106th, respectively. Singapore, Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Myanmar saw no change.
