Vietnam wins big at jujitsu world cup beach 2022

VOV.VN - Local jujitsu fighters bagged four gold, two silver, and 12 bronze medals at the Jujitsu International Federation World Cup Beach 2022 which recently came to a conclusion in Thailand.

The nation’s most successful athletes include Phung Thi Hue and Dao Hong Son, the champions of the SEA Games 31, with the pair securing two gold medals in the women’s 45kg and men’s 56kg, respectively.

Elsewhere, the other two gold medals went to Hoang Thi Nhat Que in the women's U70kg and Pham Tri Dung in the men's U69kg.

Furthermore, the Vietnamese team also brought home one silver medal through Pham Le Hoang Linh competing in the men's U85kg, as well as another silver medal in the women’s team event.

The Vietnamese jujitsu fighters competing at the global event won 11 bronze medals for the country, while the 12th bronze medal came in the men’s team event.

The Jujitsu International Federation World Cup Beach 2022 was held in Thailand from June 21 to June 25.

Vietnam sent 22 fighters to compete for titles in 10 weight categories for both men and women. They vied for trophies against powerful rivals from the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and host country Thailand.
