Vietnam U23’s to play Thailand in friendly
VOV.VN - The Vietnam U23 squad will compete in the international friendly football tournament M-150 Cup 2017 in Thailand from December 9-15 as preparation for the Asian Football Federation (AFC) U23 Championship 2018 finals.

According to the proposal of coach Park Hang Seo, 35 Vietnam U23 players will be called up to Hanoi on December 1, among them are some of best players to ever compete for Vietnam’s national teams at U19, U20, U22, and U23. |

The Vietnam U23 squad will participate in a one-week training course in Hanoi. They will then fly to Thailand to compete in the M-150 Cup 2017 from December 9-15. |

In the M-150 Cup 2017, Vietnam’s U23 squad is grouped with U23 Myanmar and U23 Uzbekistan. If the Vietnam squad secures a berth in the semi-final and final round, they will have a chance to face rivals in Group A, including U23 Thailand, U23 Japan, and U23 Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. |

Coach Park Hang Seo, VFF, and the National Coach Council agree the achievements of the U23 Vietnam squad in M-150 Cup 2017 are not important, the goal is to help them gain experience and prepare well for the AFC U23 Championship 2018 finals. |

After the M-150 Cup 2017, the Vietnam squad will come back to Vietnam and begin a short training course on December 18. On December 21 they will play a friendly match against Ulsan Hyundai FC, who are sitting in fourth in the K-League Classic 2017. |

They will have one more friendly match on December 28 or 29 before flying to China in January 2018 for another training course. |

The final round of AFC U23 Championship 2018 will take place from January 9-27, 2018 in four cities across China including Changzhou, Kunshan, Jiangyin, and Changshu. |
