Vietnam triumph at 2023 King’s Cup Sepak Takraw World Championship
VOV.VN - Vietnamese women beat their Indonesian opponents 2-0 in a final match of the 2023 King's Cup Sepak Takraw World Championship held in Thailand on July 15,
In the team of four category, the Vietnamese players overwhelmed their Indonesians in two sets with scores of 21-15 and 21-12, taking home gold.
The Vietnamese team comprising Ngo Thi Ngoc Quynh, Nguyen Thi Yen, Tran Thi Ngoc Nhung, Tran Thi Ngoc Yen, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen and Nguyen Thi My, successfully neutralized the attacks of the Indonesian team. The Vietnamese players showed good performance, forcing their opponents many times to chase scores.
In earlier group matches, Vietnam defeated Myanmar, the Republic of Korea and Japan to enter the semi-finals. They also stunned Laos in a semi-final match to cruise to the final.
Along with the gold medal, the Vietnamese women also took a silver medal in the team of three category after being defeated by Thailand. They also won a bronze medal in the women’s Regu.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese men’s team won bronze in the team of four category. In the Hoop class, the Vietnamese men’s and women’s teams won a silver and a bronze respectively.
