Vietnam to vie for medals at SEA Karate Federation Championships

VOV.VN - Vietnam will send 73 martial artists to compete in the upcoming Southeast Asia Karate Federation (SEAKF) Championships 2023 which is due to get underway in the Philippines from March 17 to 19.

They will flex their muscle in competitions with opponents from seven other regional countries, namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and hosts the Philippines.

The martial artists will take part in the men’s and women's kata and kumite categories.

The tournament is considered to be a key warm-up event for karate fighters as they prepare for SEA Games 32 which will be held in Cambodia this May.

This year marks the 10th edition of the Southeast Asia Karate Federation Championships.

In its 2022 tournament in Cambodia, Vietnam topped the medal table, bagging five golds, while Indonesia and Malaysia were placed in second and third positions, respectively.
