Vietnam to send 39 fighters to 2025 Vovinam World Championships

VOV.VN - Vietnam will send 39 Vovinam fighters to compete at the 2025 Vovinam World Championships, scheduled to take place in Bali, Indonesia, from November 1-8.

Among them, some of the notable names are Le Thi Hien, Thi Lai, Ma Thi Hong Nhung, Nguyen Huu Toan, Pham Thi Kieu Giang, Nguyen Manh Cuong, Ly Chanh Dai, Tran Thanh Vi, Nguyen Manh Phi, Le Duc Anh, Le Thi Thuong, Nguyen Quang Trieu, and Lam Tri Linh.

According to Ngo Ba Huy, head of Vovinam under the Vietnam Sports Administration and Vice President of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation, the World Championship holds great professional significance.

Following an intensive training and preparation period, the coaching staff of the national Vovinam team, led by head coach Nguyen Tan Thinh, has selected the best athletes to compete in the tournament, aiming to achieve the best possible results, he said.

At the 2023 edition of the World Championships, Vietnam claimed the overall championship title, securing 18 gold medals - 10 in combat and 8 in performance categories. The team now aim to defend its title and continue its dominance in the sport at the 2025 event.
