VOV.VN - The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) has entrusted the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) to host the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship, due to take place in Hai Phong city from August 6 to 19.
The northern port city, which has been selected as the venue for Vietnam’s group-stage matches, will welcome eight Southeast Asian women’s national teams for the finals.
This marks the first time in many years that Vietnam has hosted the biggest women's tournament in Southeast Asia. The Vietnamese team have won the championship titles three times in 2006, 2012, and 2019.
Earlier, the VFF also announced that Vietnam will host three key international women’s football tournaments this year, including the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers (Group E) at in Phu Tho province from June 29 to July 5, the AFF U19 Women’s Championship 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City from June 9 - 18, and the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Hanoi from August 2 -10.
Hosting these four major tournaments is expected to enhance both Vietnam’s organisational capacity and the overall development of women’s football in the country.
