Vietnam to have good preparation for 2024 Futsal Asian Cup
VOV.VN - Local players will have the chance to sharpen their skills while facing off against strong rivals from Thailand and Malaysia at the Ho Chi Minh City open futsal tournament LS Cup from December 23 to December 29 ahead of the 2024 Futsal Asian Cup.
Blackpearl United, the current runner-up in Thailand, will bring three foreign players to the tournament and five national players. In particular, Brazilian foreign footballer Igor Sabia spent eight years playing for Barcelona FC which has dominated the Spanish futsal tournament with a series of championship titles for four consecutive seasons.
Elsewhere, other Thai representative Thammasat Stallion are also quite familiar with the Vietnamese team following their training camp held in Thailand.
Selangor Mac are known as the third-placed futsal team in Malaysia’s national tournament.
Thai Son Nam will take on the likes of Blackpearl United, Selangor Mac, and Sanvinest Khanh Hoa in Group B.
Group A will also see the participation of Sahako, Thai Son Bac, Cao Bang, and Thammasat Stallion.
Vietnam will begin their 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup campaign in Group A following a recent draw held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
The former World Cup participants will face hosts Thailand, Myanmar, and China at the tournament scheduled to run from April 17 to April 28, 2024.
The 2024 AFC Futsal Asian Cup will involve the participation of 16 teams.
The top four finishers at the event will qualify for the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan which will take place between September 14 and October 6, 2024, marking the first time the global showpiece will be held in Central Asia.
