Vietnam targets top results with 10 key athletes at World Taekwondo Championships

VOV.VN - The Vietnam team will send 10 top athletes to compete at the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China, from October 24 to 30, with the goal of achieving the best possible results.

The coaching staff carefully selected the participants, including three leading female athletes-Truong Thi Kim Tuyen (49kg), Bac Thi Khiem (67kg), and Pham Ngoc Cham (62kg), and male competitors Nguyen Hong Trong (54kg), Dinh Cong Khoa (58kg), and Le Tuan (63kg).

The World Championships bring together elite taekwondo athletes from around the world. For Vietnam’s team, the tournament provides an opportunity to gain experience and achieve strong results.

The 2025 World Championships will be the last international competition for Vietnam’s sparring athletes before SEA Games 33.

The team is actively preparing for the event. Last year, Bac Thi Khiem won gold at the 2024 Asian Championships in Da Nang, while Truong Thi Kim Tuyen and Pham Ngoc Cham earned bronze. All three are key athletes targeted for SEA Games 33, making the World Championships a crucial chance to hone their skills.

“The 2025 World Championships will feature top athletes from Asia and around the world, including Olympic champions. This is a great opportunity for our athletes to further develop their expertise,” said a representative of the Vietnam taekwondo coaching staff.
