Vietnam slip out of top 100 in latest FIFA rankings

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese national football team dropped 12 spots to 106th in FIFA's ranking update following their poor performances at the recent 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

In Qatar, last month Vietnam left Doha empty handed after losing 2-4 to Japan, 0-1 to Indonesia and 2-3 to Iraq in group matches.

Meanwhile, Thailand that cruised into the Round 1/8 jumped to 101st place from the previous 113rd, and finished first among teams in Southeast Asia.

Asian Cup hosts Qatar ranked 28th in the world after outplaying Jordan in the final match and taking the cup once again.

The FIFA world rankings, usually updated every one or two months, are based on the coefficient of matches played.
