Vietnam endure defeat at AFC Futsal Asian Cup
VOV.VN - The Vietnam national futsal team bowed out of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup after a heavy 8-1 defeat at the hands of defending champions Iran in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The first half saw Vietnam go in 4-0 down at half time, with goalkeeper Ho Van Y kept extremely busy.
The second half saw the Vietnamese futsal team fail in their efforts to take the game to their Iranian rivals.
Moreover, Vietnam conceded an additional four goals, with Iran going into a huge 8-0. However, just two minutes before the match concluded, Vietnamese player Duc Hoa secured a consolation goal for Vietnam.
With the impressive result Iran earned a ticket to enter the semi-finals of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup.
Vietnam were subsequently eliminated from the tournament after recording two wins and two losses.
