Vietnam defeat Myanmar at 2022 AFF U19 Youth Championship
VOV.VN - Vietnam sealed a 3-1 victory over Myanmar in Indonesia on July 8, raising hope of entering the knock-out stage of the 2022 AFF U19 Youth Championship.
Quoc Viet beat goalkeeper Hein Htet Soe with a header in the third minute, opening the score for Vietnam.
Captain Khuat Van Khang, receiving the ball from Quoc Viet’s pass in the 52nd minute, made a decisive close-range shot, extending Vietnam’s lead.
It was Quoc Viet again who scored his second goal for Vietnam in the match with a header in the 90th minute
The match ended with a late goal by La Min Htwe of Myanmar in the extra time.
Vietnam retained their group A lead with 10 points, leaving behind Thailand in second position that also secured 10 points but scored fewer goals.
In their last Group A matches on July 10, Vietnam will take on Thailand while Indonesia will play the Philippines.
Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand have the chance to cruise to the knock-out stage, and the July match would be considered a decisive battle for the three.
