Vietnam beats Thailand to advance to FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup’s Main Draw
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s men’s basketball team secured a spot in the Main Draw of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2025 after a hard-fought victory over Thailand in Singapore.

The return of veteran Chris Dierker, a pivotal figure in Vietnamese basketball, alongside key players Justin Young, Dinh Thanh Tam, and Tran Dang Khoa, played a crucial role in the team’s 21-15 triumph over their Thai rivals on March 27.
This quartet had previously made history at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, clinching Vietnam’s first-ever basketball medal- a bronzeat the regional tournament.
The team’s impressive performance earned them special recognition from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which featured their match as the "Game of the Day" on its official website.
Meanwhile, Vietnam’s women’s team also shone on the court, defeating Kazakhstan 22-12 to secure their place in the Main Draw, with rookie Thu Hang delivering key points.
