Van Quyet brace powers Vietnam All Stars to 3-2 comeback win over Manchester Reds
VOV.VN - Vietnam All Stars secured a thrilling 3-2 comeback win over Manchester Reds in their second friendly match at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi on the evening of June 30.

The exhibition game was part of the 2025 Vietnam–UK Football Festival, an event aimed at promoting tourism, sports, and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Manchester Reds featured a number of Manchester United legends and young British players, including fan favorites like Wes Brown, Michael Owen, Dwight Yorke, and Teddy Sheringham. Meanwhile, the Vietnam All Stars squad included former national team stars such as Le Huynh Duc, Nguyen Van Sy, Pham Van Quyen, and Duong Hong Son, alongside current players like Do Duy Manh and Nguyen Van Quyet.
The visitors dominated early proceedings and quickly created multiple chances. In the 6th minute, Souza dazzled with his footwork in the box before slotting home at the near post past goalkeeper Duong Hong Son, giving Manchester Reds a 1-0 lead.

Riding on that momentum, Marc Fuller doubled the lead shortly after. Although his shot lacked power, the slippery pitch caused a handling error from Duong Hong Son, allowing the ball to slip through and make it 2-0.
Conceding two early goals, Vietnam All Stars regrouped and began their comeback. In the 21st minute, Huynh Duc threaded a smart through ball to Van Quyet, who calmly finished past the keeper to cut the deficit to 1-2. Just eight minutes later, Van Quyen brought the match level at 2-2 by converting a penalty with ease.
In the second half, Vietnam All Stars took control of the game. In the 64th minute, Manchester Reds goalkeeper Aziaya made a costly error, sending a pass across the face of goal directly to Van Quyet, who slotted it into the empty net to seal a 3-2 victory.
