Minh, world No.34 easily defeated Hashi Rushimono from Japan who has always failed to reach the top 100 world rankings.
Minh won the first set with a convincing score of 21-13.
In the second set, he continued to demonstrate his professional skills, outplaying his Japanese rival with a score of 21-14.
Meanwhile, in the women’s singles event, Vu Thi Trang also beat world number 155 Chisato Hoshi of Japan 2-0 (21-17, 21-18) to get a ticket to the finals.
