Quoc Nguyen takes 2nd at 2017 UMB World Cup Porto

In the finals played on Sunday July 9, Korean Haeng-Jik Kim defeated Nguyen Quoc Nguyen of Vietnam 40-34 in 21 innings to earn the title.
Kim opened with a run of nine to take an early lead. But he gave up the lead at the break when Nguyen made a run of nine to go ahead 20-18. In the second half of the match it was Kim who played with more consistent offense and more challenging defence.
Nguyen missed some key shots that enabled Kim to comfortably reach 40. Trailing by 12 at that point Nguyen needed a miracle to tie. In his equalizing turn he only made six and bowed to Kim.
