PPA Tour Asia returns to Vietnam with 2027 Ho Chi Minh City Open
VOV.VN - PPA Tour Asia will return to Vietnam for the fifth time in 2027, with the Ho Chi Minh City Open scheduled for March 31 to April 4 as the professional pickleball circuit expands into new markets across Asia.
The tournament is one of the first four events announced for the 2027 season, alongside stops in Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia. All the four tournaments will be held at the PPA Asia 500 level.
The 2027 season will start with the Bangkok Open from January 27 to 31, marking Thailand's first time hosting a PPA Tour Asia competition. The Manila Open will follow from February 24 to 28, bringing the circuit to the Philippines for the first time.
The tour will then return to Malaysia for the Penang Open, scheduled for March 16–20, before heading to Vietnam for the Ho Chi Minh City Open from March 31 to April 4.
The Ho Chi Minh City Open will mark the fifth time PPA Tour Asia has staged an event in Vietnam. The country's growing pickleball community and expanding network of courts and tournaments provide a broader base for the sport's development.
Hosting a professional tournament also gives Vietnamese fans the opportunity to watch top-level competition in person and brings local players closer to international playing standards.
All four opening-season tournaments will offer athletes opportunities to compete for titles and accumulate points in the World Pickleball Rankings.
According to the announced schedule, the PPA Finals 2027 will take place from May 10 to 16 at Life Time Rancho San Clemente in California, the United States. The top eight men and top eight women in the overall standings will qualify for the season-ending event, making the early tournaments important to the race for Finals places.
