In the official list, coach Park dropped for players, including defender Tran Dinh Trong who has been forced to miss the game due to injury.
Elsewhere, striker Ha Duc Chinh, along with defender Le Van Xuan and goalkeeper Nguyen Van Hoang, were also dropped from the final squad.
The selected players are made up of a number of familiar faces that have represented the country in previous tournaments, including Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Cong Phuong, and captain Que Ngoc Hai.
During a press conference held on October 6, coach Park affirmed that the match against China is particularly important to Vietnam as they have suffered losses in both their opening matches in the final round.
Vietnam will therefore seek the best way to play the game, he stated, adding that how to constrain China’s playing style will be decisive in the upcoming match.
The national team is scheduled to play China in their third match of Group B at 00:00 a.m. on October 8 (Vietnam time) at the Sharjah stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
They are then due to travel away to Oman where they will play the hosts on October 12.
