Paris Olympics 2024: Thu Vinh misses medal in 25m pistol final
VOV.VN - Vietnamese shooter Trinh Thu Vinh bid farewell to the 2024 Paris Olympics on August 3 after failing to secure a medal in the final of the women’s 25-metre pistol.
Vinh advanced to the final after claiming fourth place with 587 points in the qualification on August 2.
The Vietnamese shooter then had to face off against several strong rivals, including Veronika Major of Hungary, Hanieh Rostamiyan of Iran, Katelyn Morgan of the United States, Yang Jiin of the Republic of Korea (RoK), Manu Bhaker of India, Zhao Nan of China, and Camille Jedrzejewski of France.
Vinh played well in the first three shooting series. However, she endured poor performances in the final two and scored just three out of five points after five shooting series, finishing in seventh place among eight shooters in the final.
The gold medal of the event went to Yang Jiino of the RoK. Camille Jedrzejewski of France won silver, while Veronika Major of Hungary grabbed bronze.
Earlier, Vinh ranked fourth at the women’s 10-metre air pistol final on July 28, missing out on winning a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
