Over 7,000 runners compete in Da Nang int’l marathon

Da Nang International Marathon 2025 kicked off at East Sea Park in Da Nang city on March 21, drawing over 7,000 athletes from Vietnam and around the world in a record-breaking turnout.

Having established itself as one of Asia's most iconic races over the past decade, the event continues to captivate runners with its breathtaking coastal route. The 2025 edition set a new milestone, welcoming nearly 3,000 international participants from 72 countries and territories, the highest number of foreign runners in the race’s 12-year history.

This year’s marathon offered three race categories for adults: the full Marathon (42km), Half Marathon (21km), and a 5km run; along with two Ronny Dash races (500m and 1.5km) tailored for children.

A standout moment of the event was a record-setting US$20,000 donation made by Dennis Zabora and the Silver Stride group. Zabora, a retired US veteran and dedicated participant in the marathon, has consistently rallied support from friends and family during his visits to Da Nang. His efforts exemplify the powerful blend of sportsmanship and community spirit.

The donation was handed over during the opening ceremony to several charity organisations in Da Nang.
