One more gold medal for Vietnam at SEA Open Water Swimming Championships 2025

VOV.VN -Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Han brought home a gold medal in the women’s 5km of the 16–17 age group at the South East Asian Open Water Swimming Championships 2025 held in Thailand on September 13.

She was the only Vietnamese athlete competing in this age group, facing four swimmers from the host Thailand and two from Singapore. Han finished first, followed by Ga Un Muse Goh of Singapore in second place, and Kullanit Teeka in third.

Also on September 13, Nguyen Vinh Thai Bao won a silver medal in the men’s 5km of the 14–15 age group, his first appearance at a Southeast Asian tournament. The gold medal in this category went to Sorawit of Thailand.

The championship, held from September 12–14, features multiple events, including the 5km and 10km races for both men and women, as well as a 4x1500m mixed relay. So far, the Vietnamese team has claimed three gold and one bronze medal this year.
