| Vietnam were held to a draw with Malaysia in the first-leg final of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018, which took place at the Bukit Jalil national stadium in Kuala Lumpur on December 11. |

| Thanks to their two away goals, Vietnam will have the upper hand as the teams meet for the second leg final return match at My Dinh National Stadium on December 15. |
