VOV.VN - The global football governing body FIFA has appointed two Vietnamese referees to officiate the third qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics, announced the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Referee Le Thi Ly from Ho Chi Minh City and assistant referee Ha Thi Phuong from Hai Phong will be placed in charge of the match between the women's national football teams of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Japan.
The match is scheduled to take place in Pyongyang, the DPRK, on February 24.
Le Thi Ly is one of the three Vietnamese female referees accredited by FIFA and is a senior referee of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Last year she was assigned to take charge of games in the qualifiers for the AFC U20 Women Asian Cup, the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19), the 2024 Paris Olympics’ second qualifiers, and the AFC Women's Club Championship.
