Hanoi awards VND1 bln to Vietnam U22 team after SEA Games 33 triumph
VOV.VN - The Hanoi People’s Committee held a ceremony on January 7 to honour and reward the Vietnam U22 team, along with coaches and athletes, in recognition of their outstanding achievements at the recent 33rd SEA Games.
At the ceremony, Hanoi announced a total reward of VND3 billion for the city’s sports delegation participating in the regional sporting event. In addition, the Vietnam U22 football team received VND1 billion in recognition of its convincing gold medal victory, further affirming the standing of Vietnamese football in the regional arena.
The 33rd SEA Games took place in Thailand from December 9 to 20, 2025. Hanoi supplied many key athletes to the Vietnamese delegation, including players from both the men’s and women’s football teams, making a significant contribution to Vietnam’s strong overall performance and its top-three finish at the Games.
In particular, players nurtured through Hanoi’s system continued to occupy key roles in the Vietnam U22 team. The U22 championship at SEA Games 33 was not only a well-deserved reward for the dedication of the coaching staff and players, but also a testament to the effectiveness of long-term, systematic investment in youth football development.
Addressing the ceremony, the municipal leaders attributed the high achievements in football to the city’s sustained attention and investment, noting that the accomplishments will serve as motivation to pursue higher goals at continental and global competitions in the future.
