Gia Lai U-14 International Football Festival 2026 offers US$40,000 in total prizes

VOV.VN - Gia Lai, a Central Highlands province of Vietnam, will host the Gia Lai U-14 International Football Festival 2026 from May 11 to 17 at Pleiku Arena and the Ham Rong Training Centre, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 14.

The tournament is one of the key activities within the National Tourism Year- Gia Lai 2026, contributing to promoting the province through sports.

The festival is jointly organised by LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai Sports Joint Stock Company and the Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the participation of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and relevant agencies.

The tournament is expected to feature 12 domestic and international teams competing in 11-a-side matches, with total prize money of more than US$40,000 (equivalent to over VND1 billion).

Five domestic teams include PVF, Song Lam Nghe An, Hanoi FC, Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc and hosts LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

International participants include the Malaysia national team, Jubilo Iwata (Japan), Gangwon FC and Mohyeon (Republic of Korea), Shenzhen (China), Chonburi (Thailand) and Kham Say (Laos).

Preparations for the tournament are about 60% complete. Organisers are continuing remaining work to ensure the event takes place on schedule, safely and professionally.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairwoman of the Gia Lai People’s Committee, said the event is an important occasion to promote tourism linked with sports, while introducing Gia Lai’s image and culture to domestic and international visitors. The provincial authorities have directed relevant units to coordinate closely and carry out preparations on schedule.

In addition to this festival, the province plans to host another international football tournament in December, continuing to serve as a highlight of the National Tourism Year.
