Four local players named in ASEAN Club Championship Team of Tournament
VOV.VN - Four Vietnamese players from Hanoi Police FC have been honoured by the organisers of the ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) 2024/25 as part of the Team of the Tournament, following their outstanding performances for the club.
The four players are Nguyen Quang Hai, Leonardo Artur, Le Van Do, and Tran Dinh Trong.
Remarkably, Hanoi Police FC contributed the same number of players to the all-star lineup as tournament champions Buriram United, underscoring the Vietnamese club’s strong showing. Coach Mano Polking’s squad played on equal terms with the Thai powerhouse across both legs of the final - 210 minutes in total - before narrowly losing in a penalty shootout.
Throughout their runner-up campaign, Quang Hai made the most key passes during the tournament. The midfielder contributed one goal and made three assists of the 22 goals scored by Hanoi Police FC. He was also named among the Top 7 players with the most passes and was voted as the Best Player of Final 1st Leg.
Meanwhile, Leo Artur finished the tournament with six goals and won the Top Goal Scorer, along with Brazilian player Lucas Crispim. His teammate, Van Do, also scored four goals and made two assists.
Central defender Tran Dinh Trong played impressively throughout the competition, ranking third in successful tackles with 14 and making 21 clearances, along with coming fourth in interceptions with seven.
Other foreign players included in the list were Theerathon Bunmathan, Lucas Crispim, Curtis Good, and Chatchai Bootprom all of Buriram Utd; as well as Kritsada Kaman of BG Pathum United; Nermin Haljeta of PSM Makassar; and Safawi Rasid of Terengganu.
