Final leg of VTV Cup 2017 cycle race gets underway

VOV.VN - The final leg of the VTV Cup 2017 bike race is underway in the capital city of Hanoi.

This year’s race finds cyclists riding a total distance of 1,300km in 10 legs, having travelled so far through Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, and Hai Phong before starting the last leg in Hanoi.

The final leg started Saturday, November 2, at the Ly Thai To Statue Square. The race course is 30 laps around Hoan Kiem Lake, which is equivalent to roughly 51 kilometres.

This year, cyclists from Malaysia, Laos and Thailand have registered to take part. In total, there are seven domestic and five foreign teams participating in the challenging race.

The leg of the race today is broadcast live on VTV.

However, it’s not over quite yet, as the race continues tomorrow, September 3, with a last 149-kilometre sprint from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa Province.
