Female players win nine golds at Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese female team bagged nine gold, five silver, and four bronze medals at the 2021 Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championship which was held virtually from September 24 to September 29.
The tournament, organised by the Thailand Chess Association, witnessed the participation of hundreds of players from 14 countries and territories throughout the region.
The players compete in separate six age groups ranging from 8 to 18 for both men and women.
They compete in a rapid chess format, with each contestant participating in nine games to seek positions in the individual category.
The top three positions of each team are calculated based on total points to finalise the rankings.
Male competitions are set to get underway between October 1 and 3.
