Female judoka to represent Vietnam at World Senior Championships 2025

VOV.VN - Vietnamese judoka Hoang Thi Tinh has been selected as the country’s sole representative at the 2025 World Senior Judo Championships, set to take place in Hungary from June 13 to 20.

Tinh will compete in the women’s 48kg weight category along with 43 top athletes from around the globe.

Her participation was confirmed by the coaching board of the Vietnamese judo team, based on international eligibility criteria.

According to Nguyen Huu An, Head of the Judo Department under the Sports Authority of Vietnam and General Secretary of the Vietnam Judo Federation, only athletes ranked in the top 100 worldwide in their respective weight categories are eligible to participate. Hoang Thi Tinh is the only Vietnamese athlete who meets this requirement.

This marks another significant milestone for Tinh, who last year secured a qualification slot for Vietnam at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The upcoming championship will host 564 judokas from 93 countries and territories, promising a highly competitive event on the world stage.
