Dinh Hong Quan to defend IBF title

VOV.VN - International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion Dinh Hong Quan is set to defend his title on December 10 at the Grand Ho Tram Resort in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

The fight will be part of a series of IBF WBO title matches dubbed "Fortunes of War” hosted by the Cocky Buffalo Promotions and VSP Promotions.

The upcoming match will see Quan face off against Arnel Baconaje of the Philippines.

To prepare for the event, Quan attended a training session in the Republic of Korea and met with a Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao to gain experience in the craft of boxing.

This comes after Quan had become the first Vietnamese boxer to hold an IBF Asia title after beating Delmar Pellio of the Philippines in a 10-round match in the men's lightweight category in April, also in Vung Tau. This was the first international title won by the 24-year-old. After his win, Quan jumped from No. 335 to No. 233 among nearly 2,200 athletes ranked by the IBF around the world.
