Billie Jean King Cup 2025 Asia/Oceania Group III kicks off in Lam Dong
VOV.VN - The Billie Jean King Cup 2025 Asia/Oceania Group III tournament began on November 10 in central highland Lam Dong province, featuring 35 female players from seven countries across the region.
Following the draw, Vietnam, ranked 98th globally, was placed in Group A alongside the Maldives (102nd) and Bahrain (128th). Group B includes Laos (99th), Guam (110th), Brunei (118th), and Jordan (139th). The tournament winner will earn promotion to the 2026 Asia/Oceania Group II.
The Vietnamese squad is expected to deliver strong performances, showcasing Vietnamese tennis on the international stage.
The Billie Jean King Cup, formerly the Federation Cup and Fed Cup, is the world’s premier women’s team tennis championship.
Organized by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) under the authorization of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the tournament will run through November 15. This is the second time in 2025 that Vietnam has hosted a regional women’s team event under ITF auspices, following the successful Davis Cup Group III in July.
