Australia beat Vietnam, win AFF U18 Women’s Championship 2022
VOV.VN - Powerhouse Australia defeated Vietnam 2-0 in the final match of the AFF U18 Women’s Championship in Indonesia on August 4 evening, clinching the title of the tournament.
Vietnamese girls looked confident at the beginning of the match with key players such as Minh Chuyen, Hoang Van, Nhat Lan, and Hai Yen challenging the opponents’ defense line.
After the first 20 minutes, Australian girls began to deploy long-ball attacks to take advantage of their physical strength, and they converted the opportunity into a goal in the 40th minute.
From the cross into the box on the right wing, Sienna Saveska was immediately present to defeat goalkeeper Phuong Thao.
Also from a cross several minutes into the second half, Mary Stanic-Floody hit the ball close to the goal, making it 2-0 for young Australian girls.

In another match on the same day, Thailand stunned Myanmar 2-0 to finish in third place.
Striker Minh Chuyen was awarded the title Scorer of the AFF U18 Women’s Championship as she scored six goals.
The Vietnam team also scored the most, with 23 goals compared to 17 goals by Australia and 15 by Thailand.
