4,300 runners set to participate in Vietnam Trail Marathon

VOV.VN - Approximately 4,300 local and foreign runners are due to take part in the Vietnam Trail Marathon (VTM) on January 30 in Moc Chau district of Son La province.

The event will be part of the Vietnam Trail Series held by Topas and has successfully attracted the participation of a various local celebrities, in addition to plenty of talented Vietnamese and foreign athletes.

The event’s organising board said on January 26 that participants will race on routes ranging from five km up to 70km.

Similar to other races organised by Topas, US$20 from every long distance, on the routes ranging from 21km to 70km, will go directly to charity.

This year will see roughly VND700 million divided between local projects throughout Moc Chau by two charities. This includes Newborns Vietnam, a charity which works to increase life chances for newborns babies, and Operation Smile, which performs facial surgery on those suffering from deformities.

Topas has been operating in Vietnam since the 1990s in the field of adventure tourism. Its specific focus is on organising sports and other outdoor events.
