240 players attend Asian shuttlecock championship in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - The second Asian shuttlecock championship and Asian youth shuttlecock championship 2024 kicked off in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on August 22.

The tournament will see the participation of 240 male and female athletes from nine countries and territories worldwide, including China, Mongolia, Laos, Thailand, India, and Vietnam.

The organisers have offered seven sets of medals across seven categories, namely the men’s team, the women’s team, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles. 

The tournament is scheduled to last through to August 26.

The Asian event was first held in Hong Kong (China) in 2023, attracting athletes from nine countries and territories worldwide.

Vietnam topped the overall rankings with 11 gold and three silver medals.
