14 athletes to compete in Southeast Asia Pencak Silat Championships

VOV.VN - A 14-member Vietnamese pencak silat team arrived in Thailand on October 9 to compete at the 2025 Southeast Asia Pencak Silat Championships (SEAPSC), which will kick off the following day.

Coach Nguyen Van Hung said the tournament offers a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to sharpen their skills ahead of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) scheduled for later this year.

Considered a pre-SEA Games event, the SEAPSC 2025 will take place in Songkhla, Thailand, from October 10 to 15, at the same venue that will host pencak silat competitions during the upcoming SEA Games.

Vietnam’s contingent comprises 10 tanding (combat) athletes and four seni (performance) competitors. The team is aiming to bring home three gold medals from the regional championship.
