Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan on December 17 granted 10 “Golden Globe” awards and recognized 40 outstanding female IT students.

The Deputy PM confirmed that the honoured youth will be a driving force behind Vietnam’s efforts to catch up with the world in the field of information technology (IT).

He also called on young people working in IT to make a greater effort in study and research to contribute to the development of the sector.

Mr. Nhan praised the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) initiative in organising the Golden Globe award ceremony.

The annual Golden Globe award and the IT award for outstanding female students is part of a coordinated campaign between the HCYU and the Ministry of Science and Technology which aims to honour outstanding young IT professionals for their contributions to the field.
