Youth Union anniversary celebrated in Russia
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Committee organised a meeting to commemorate its 79th anniversary at the International Club at Moscow Friendship University in Russia on March 21.
Present the event were Party Committee Secretary Dang Huu Trung, Counselor Tran Kim Bao and a crowd of students living in Russia.

There are now 2,800 youth union members in Russia, 77 of whom have been admitted to the Party. In 2009, three Youth Union chapters were established to admit 28 new members.
Addressing the event, Party Committee Secretary Dang Huu Trung praised the activities of Youth Union members such as learning and following HCM’s moral example, conducting scientific research and organising cultural, sports and charity events.
In recent years, young Vietnamese in Russia have donated over RUB32,900 to support flood victims in the homeland.
Also at the ceremony, the organising board announced a list of 26 collectives and 115 individuals to receive certificates of merit for their outstanding achievements in fulfilling the youth union’s tasks in 2009.
A quiz about the HCYU’s history as well as music and dance performances by students from universities in Moscow also took place.
