The Vietnamese delegation, led by Duong Van An, the secretary of Communist Youth Union Central Committee, will join in various activities held in Vientiane, Luang Prabang and Xieng Khouang.

The annual meeting is an important political event which is designed to help strengthen the traditional relations, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries’ young people and between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union.

During the meeting, the delegates will discuss measures to encourage young people from both countries to exchange their experiences in developing traditional cultures, customs and habits.

The Vietnamese delegates will also visit economic, cultural and sporting areas with youngsters from the provinces of Luang Prabang and Xieng Khouang.

At the meeting, the leaders of the two Youth Unions will sign a cooperation agreement for the 2010-2011 period under which the Vietnam and Laos will work with the Cambodian Youth Association as part of the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia development programme.

The HCYU will propose a plan to help to build a Vietnam-Laos Friendship Palace in Vientiane and a Vietnam-Laos Youth Friendship village in a Lao border province.
