Wild animals rescued from illegal trade

Up to 40 wild animals transported to Hanoi from northern Lang Son province by two traders have been rescued thanks to help from Education for Nature Vietnam (ENV).

Of the rescued animals, there is a loris weighing 1.5 kilogrammes listed as an endangered, precious and rare species prioritised for protection. Other animals are four black-breasted leaf turtles and 35 green frogs.

The wild animals are being taken care at the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Centre.

The two illegal traders are being kept for further investigation.

Last week, Hanoi ENV volunteers assisted local authorities to save a loris.
