The World Bank (WB) will continue to cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) in developing a detailed plan for the second phase of tertiary and primary education projects in Vietnam, according to a WB expert.

Speaking at a meeting in Hanoi on November 22 between representatives of the WB and MoET, Jeffrey Waite said that the bank has conducted a case study of primary pupils to prepare for the two projects scheduled to start in June 2007.

A MoET representative proposed that in addition to the two projects, the WB pay more attention to students, trainees and those involved in key socio-economic activities in Vietnam.

In reply, the WB expert said the bank will map out a research project targeting students aged 15-19 to build a scheme to meet the country’s demand for training.
